Refund & Cancellation Policy
How deposits and balances are handled when a trip is cancelled — by you, by your guide, or by the weather.
Last updated: September 10, 2026
Before the guide confirms
Your booking is Pending confirmation after you pay the deposit. You may cancel at any time before the guide confirms for a full refund of your deposit. No balance has been charged yet, so nothing further is owed.
After the guide confirms — you cancel
Once a guide confirms, the remaining balance is charged in full. Cancellation windows and fees are set per trip and shown at checkout. In general:
- Cancel 7+ days before: full refund.
- Cancel 3–6 days before: 50% of the total refunded.
- Cancel within 72 hours: deposit forfeited, balance refunded.
Exact terms always override these defaults and are stated on the trip page before you book.
Guide cancels
If your guide cancels, you receive a full refund of everything paid, including the deposit and any balance. We may offer to help you rebook at no additional cost.
Weather & unsafe conditions
If the trip is cancelled for weather or unsafe conditions (determined by the guide or platform), you receive a full refund. Where possible we reschedule first; your refund is honored if you prefer not to.
No-show
If you don’t show up for a confirmed trip without notifying your guide, the deposit and any charged balance are forfeited. There are no refunds for no-shows.
How refunds are issued
Refunds are returned to the original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Cancellation fees, where set, are shown before booking.
